Topaz Event Entertainment provides the widest array of world dances in the Greater Toronto Area and can provide entertainment for corporate events, restaurants, festivals, private events and music videos as well as choreography, workshops and private/group instruction for wedding parties, solo/couples/group dances and music videos.
Afghan Dance
Topaz Event Entertainment is proud to work with Ensemble Topaz, one of the only groups in the Toronto area that performs Afghan dance on a professional level. Our dancers regularly perform weddings, festivals, workshops and have provided choreography and dancers for music videos. Our dancers have performed all over Ontario and have performed Afghan dances at Yonge-Dundas Square, Harbourfront Centre and the Toronto Centre for the Arts in Toronto, at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa and at many other events throughout Ontario.
South Asian Dance
Topaz Event Entertainment is proud to work with Ensemble Topaz, a Toronto-based dance troupe that choreographs and performs a wide range of South Asian dance.
Classical Dance
We are able to provide professional practitioners of Indian classical dance in several forms including Odissi, Bharatanatyam, Kathak and others.
Bollywood
Topaz Event Entertainment provides professional Bollywood dancers who are able to put on an energetic performance of exciting, up-tempo dances to Bollywood hits, ranging from “evergreen” songs from Bollywood’s Golden Age to today’s blockbusters!
Rajasthani
One of Topaz Event Entertainment’s unique offerings is Rajasthani music and dance! The arts of the Rajput regions of Rajasthan, the land of kings, come alive with Topaz’s artists who have studied with the masters in the region. The only performing arts group in the Toronto area to have studied intensively in Rajasthan, India, Topaz features dancers who can perform the Kalbeliya style of dance from the once-nomadic tribes of the Thar desert. We also offer the Chari dance where our dancers perform while balancing pots on their heads! Additionally, we feature musicians who perform some rare Rajasthani folk instruments including the “Been” (the snake charmer instrument) and the “Alghoza,” a double flute common to the Thar desert region!
Sindhi
Topaz also provides Sindhi dance forms from Pakistan and our dancers have been featured at huge Pakistan Independence events in Mississauga’s Celebration Square.
Balochi
Topaz can provide colourful entertainment from the Balochistan region of Pakistan. With unique embroidered costumes and exciting dances, Balochi dances are a unique form for any event!
